Shattered Angles
Susan Purney-Mark, Instructor

Sample Shattered Angles Quilt
In this class, you can use a variety of different fabrics, such as batiks and mottled type designs. Small or medium scale prints, swirls, florals and textured fabrics look great, too! Avoid really dark fabrics as they will not contrast with the insertion strips.
We will spend some time in Lesson One looking at and discussing various fabric options. You can wait until then to make your decisions.
We will work on a quilt that measures 42" x 51". There are TWELVE 12" (finished) blocks in the quilt with a 3" border all around.
Samples to show possible fabric choices: Jelly Beans,
high contrast (left) and Yellow in My Garden, low contrast (right)
Quantities are given for the 12 block sample. If you wish to make your quilt larger, there will be a chart in Lesson One with fabric requirements for additional blocks and borders.
Blocks - total of 2 1/2 yards You can use scraps, fat quarters or yardage. Be sure that the scraps or fat quarters are at least 21" long.
Insertion Strip Fabric - 3/4 yard
Border and Binding Fabric - 1 1/2 yards You may choose to make the insertion strips, borders and binding out of all one fabric.
