Photographing Your Quilts

There are not a lot of supplies for this class. Do not buy anything yet. With the exception of the quilt, we are going to talk about all of these things in Lessons One and Two.
- digital camera
- quilt (one or more)
- memory card appropriate for your camera
- tripod (optional)
- lighting
- normal house lamps
- variety of bulbs with different wattage for your lighting fixtures
- reflective surfaces. Examples are a white sheet, white cardboard or foam core board, or white butcher paper. You will find that you may or may not need a reflective surface. You will discover exactly what you need in Lesson Three.
- extension cord
- a way to hang your quilt
- a place to hang your quilt
OUTLINE
Lesson One
We will look at the equipment and supplies you need.
Lesson Two
We will position your quilt, camera and lighting to maximize your opportunity for successful photographs.
Lesson Three
You will take several photos, analyze them and learn what adjustments can be made to improve them.
Lesson Four
We will look at managing your digital files and discuss options for digital editing.
