Stained Glass Bouquet

Although both patterns provided for this class are fairly easy, if this is your first try at stained glass, the bias application on the tulip pattern is a little easier.  By that I mean you will spend less time figuring where to hide the ends of the bias strips.

Fabric

Both the Stained Glass Bouquet and Tulip Window (alternate pattern) require only small amounts of fabric for the flowers and leaves.

• 5" squares for each flower
• 2" x 8" scraps for each leaf
• 10" square for the flowerpot, if doing that pattern, will be enough.

Background fabric: (blue) I/2 yard  (if directional, you may want 1 yard for larger wall hanging)

First border (green) – 1/2 yd

Last border (flower print) – 1/2 yd

Bias – 1 yd black (or color of your choice) If you are using fusible bias, one 11 yard roll of 1/4" should be enough

Backing – 3/4 yd

Binding – 1/2 yd

Batting – 3/4 yd (thin)

Additional Supplies

• freezer paper
• 1/2 yd fusible web (Wonder Under)
• Sharpie fine tip pen or something that makes a heavy dark line
• pen or pencil for marking background. All lines will be covered so go for whatever is easiest to mark with.
• scissors
• basic sewing kit (pins, needles, seam ripper)
• enlarged pattern (done in class) or pattern of your choice

The first class will cover choosing fabric and the different methods of preparing the patterns. You may want to wait until then to get your fabric and supplies.
