Jane Was Nuts

This class can easily be done with scraps.  In fact, we will discuss the common sizes you can start cutting all your leftovers into so you will be ready to whip out some Jane Was Nuts blocks whenever you feel like it.  These blocks make wonderful small quilts, as well as vests, jackets, tote bags, hot mats - all those things that big blocks tend to overwhelm.

In addition, you need:

• sewing machine in good working order
• neutral thread
• either a 1/4" foot on your machine 
• or a package of Dr. Scholl's Foot Padding
• seam ripper
• small pins
• rotary cutter, mat, short ruler
• square rotary ruler, at least 5" square (I prefer the Bias Square, but anything that has the diagonal line down the middle should do)
• design wall. This can be as simple as a piece of foam core board or a length of flannel pinned behind a door

Helpful but not essential: graph paper, 4 squares to the inch OR computer program such as Electric Quilt, so you can play with design possibilities
